Cherry blossom (sakura) and engagement in Tokyo, Japan

This weekend was all about timing. It was more luck than planning that we would pick up our engagement ring this Saturday and at the same time the cherry blossom is starting to bloom.
So we picked up the ring and headed for Rikugien Garden. We visited Rikugien each time I came to Japan and it's sort of become our special garden. This time, after queuing, we bought a 1 year pass and expect we will get a lot of use out of it.
It was busier than usual, but it wasn't too difficult to get close and after putting on the ring we took a few photos.
We also visited Ueno which was the first place we met. It was full of people drinking, eating and being merry under the cherry blossom trees.
We stopped and had a bite to eat. It was my first time eating fish on a stick and I wasn't paying attention when taking my first bite. I bit into the fishes STOMACH and it tasted bitter and had GREY MUSHY GUNK inside... blaaaargh! I survived and enjoyed the rest of the fish...
The blossom wasn't quite full in Ueno, but it was still beautiful and those drinking certainly weren't too bothered ^^
Finally we returned to Rikugien, the queues even longer this time, but using our yearly pass we walked straight in. It was packed with people and quite a struggle to move around but well worth seeing the blossom illuminated at night.

Very nice! You'll have to start looking for wedding rings next! I agree with Joseph, lovely photos... except for that ugly dead fish, LOL!

Congrats man! Good luck with the paperwork! It rocks! (I did it last year.)
On a side note... That's what hanami in Tokyo looks like. Ack! Too crowded.
