Nihongo Notes
Since my teenage years I have been fascinated by the Japanese language, history and culture. It wasn’t until my second year of university in 2002 that I decided to try learning the language. I soon gave up because that one set of CDs with accompanying book, which I thought was all I needed, didn't give me all the answers. I had no real idea of what was involved and there was no structure to my practice sessions. I spent most of my time either building websites, watching movies or chasing girls. Japanese was not a priority and it soon faded out of my life.
Now I’m a little older and a little wiser (and a little slower at chasing girls) I’ve decided to learn Japanese properly. I realize that it’s not something you just sit and study, it’s something you must surround yourself with and absorb.
In an effort to keep me on track I decided to make this blog and I hope the site will eventually help others to learn Japanese.
Update: Nihongo Notes is no longer a single blog but an online Japanese language community.
