I came back from town this weekend with a not so healthy lunch. As I was about to dig in I had a pang of guilt and thought about the healthy bentos I’d been making over the last few weeks. I ended up picturing my unhealthy lunch as a bento.
For a bit of fun I actually put it all in a bento box. I think the plum balances it out nicely.
Bento contents:
- 1 Sausage Roll filled with unknown meat
- 1 Peperami stick which looks and feels like it has been laminated
- 1 little bottle of HP brown sauce. That’s right, it’s not soy sauce, it’s HP sauce!
- 1 can of Red Bull. Mmmm liquid hyper-activity.
- Lots of mini cheddars!
- 3 Jaffa cakes
- 1 Yorkie Bar. Remember girls, it’s not for you! This is a bloke’s chocolate bar!
- 1 plum to maintain a healthy balance.
Preparation time: 2 minutes in the shop. 15 seconds unwrapping items.
Total calories: 1032 I haven’t a clue
Bento type: Obesity in a box
I actually ate all this and felt like crap afterward. I haven’t eaten that much junk food in one go since university. The funny thing is all these items are easier to obtain than a healthy alternative here in the UK. Even if you find a salad it’s probably had sugar added to it!
